Concerning the status of tradition in Islamic beliefs, different viewpoints have been suggested. The prevailing view among Shias and Sunnis is that tradition enjoys an esteemed position next to Quran and along with it has the responsibility of defining the Islamic teachings. In the quran to quran interpretation method, as is apparent from the explanations of Allameh Tabatabayi, tradition has no status in the interpretation of the verses and Quran is independent and in no need of any other source for its interpretation. However, studying his practical approach and resolving his views indicates the use of tradition in different fields. It should be declared that the author of almizan ,along his quran to quran interpreting approach has not neglected the employment of tradition and in practice does not consider the quranic verses adequate for reaching the depth of the meanings of the quranic verses.
