Explaining the manner and methods of Ashqlani's in Lesan al-Mizan on the rejection and criticism of Zahabi's quotations in Mizan al-Etedal

Abstract

Ibn Hajar Asqalani is one of the famous Sunni rulers in the 8th and 9th lunar centuries. Among his royal works is the book "Lesan al- Mizan", which was written by the supervisor of "Mizan al- Etdal fi Naqd al-Rajal" by Zahabi. Although it may be thought that Lesan al- Mizan is the only scholar on Zahabi's book; however, the review of the content of the book shows that the author has criticized Zahabi`s statement in several cases with a purposeful thought. The main question of this research is that Ashqlani investigated and criticized Zahabi`s statement in which subjects of this article. Based on this, the authors have investigated the Linguistics of Al- Mizan with a descriptive- analytical method and have come to the conclusion that: Ashqlani, in order to review and criticize the speech of Zahabi, from various methods such as: referring to the original source used by Zahabi, paying attention to the mismatch between Zahabi's speech and action, presenting a reason to weaken some of Zahabi's criticisms on hadiths, Zahabi's lack of attention to the main carrier of the word, explanation of Zahabi's errors in distinguishing the common narrator, revealing Zahabi's inattention to the occurrence of typos in the names of some narrators, the explanation of the information provided by Zahabi has benefited.
